daverclasper Posted December 15, 2020 Report Posted December 15, 2020 (edited) Hi. Mine is a bit shy in the top corners (have been using black electrical tape over the gap). I think it has been mentioned to put some washer hose, etc in-between (I assume) the glass edge and the seal, to push out the seal in this area. Couple questions please. Would I use a whole hose, or slit it in half along it's lenght? I assume a cut taper at the ends of tube would make it neater if a whole hose?. I was planning to try this with the screen in situ, by pushing the screen upwards and outwards a bit with say a lolly stick, to then push the tube in, though I guess it could stretch the seal permanently a bit where it's against the face of the glass, as 20 years old and starting to show it's age?. Also I guess a bit of Vaseline could help with this?. Cheers, Dave Edited December 15, 2020 by daverclasper
Pete Lewis Posted December 15, 2020 Report Posted December 15, 2020 a slice of screen wash tube was a common packer to aid pushing the corners out to fit the aperture at the age this may not work well and yes has to fit the edge of the glass and sit in the base of the glass channel , taper the ends sounds a plan Pete
