Gazza
Hiya, can anyone tell me how I connect the female spade connectors to this new fuse box please?,
thescrapman
They look like crimp connectors to me, not spade
Gazza
Oh right, I take it I need to remove the connectors out from the fuse box and strip the connectors off my car?, not a lot of room to do this though.
Clive
Yes, the spitfires had the fusebox has part of the loom. Have you worked out how to get the loom through the hole ? that looks fun. A few people have used alternative fuseboxes, usually with modern blade fuses so simply cut the old connectors, crimp female spades and go from there. And yes, not much space. I presume you have removed the glovebox, you will get better access (and a sore back if you are as old as me)
Gazza
Hi Clive, I should be able to get enough of the look through to do it, but I might take your advise and put a modern one in or while I'm about it extend the wires and put it inside the car as a lot of rally cars had this, thanks for the advise, decision time! Mjit
If you end up keeping the current style fusebox rather than cutting off the old connectors/crimping on the new ones you can just release the old ones from the old fusebox and slot them into the new one. There is a good thread on here somewhere, with a fusebox recommendation and wiring diagrams. Can't find it now, need to go to work....

Clive
Thanks Doug. You are up early! Had your kippers? Yes, at work now. Collecting plasterboard, and realising how flippin heavy the "soundboard" stuff is. I need an assistant these days.
dougbgt6
Kippers. Mmmmm. Haven't had a decent kipper for years, those boil in a bag supermarket things are disappointing, priced down to tasteless. Doug
