Ian Foster
Mine's a Spal VA10-AP10/C-61A, which I chose because it was the slimmest I could find at 12" diameter. Probably a bit less powerful than the unit with the deeper motor, but seems to do the job well. Ian
johny
Yes I think I could probably get away with a less powerful fan although I do appreciate the amount of air moved through the engine bay when stationary as I think it helps to keep the carbs cooler... Mathew
Getting this sort of back on topic! Fitted an ebay powerspark distributor to the 2500s. Very impressed, pulls alot stronger right through the rev range. The old one was ok if you gently increased speed but pinked if you planted your foot. I went fairly cheap solution as i dont like seting points but wanted something that was low maintenance. If i was to get serious only when i rebuilt the engine, full ecu and electronic fuel injection, but the cars not for that, that was my spitfire. To sum it up, for 70 pounds it now pulls strong from idle right up the rev range. Set at 10deg, any one else, is there a better start setting? Iain T
I set my Lucas dizzy with Pertronix at 10 degrees, seems fine. I thought it a good compromise between the 13 or 7 degree options for various octane ratings. Iain
