Tim Bell Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 I'm sure this question must have been asked before, but I think the fuel filler pipe on my Herald Estate needs replacing because, if you fill the tank up, the car reeks of pertrol for a bit. The same happened to my GT6 but they now make repsalcement pipes and this cured the problem. Thinking it's the same for a Herald Estate, but I don't think you can get fuel filler pipes any more, so wondered what solutions others have come to when the fuel filler pipe needs replacing?
Pete Lewis Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 on the estate you have two short rubber hoses one for the filller and one on the attached breather, these appear as straight hose which would be available in lengths from places like merlin motor sport or similar https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/s/fuel-system/fuel-hose Pete
Colin Lindsay Posted July 26, 2015 Report Posted July 26, 2015 As Pete says any petrol-resistant pipe of the correct diameter will do; mine are original but very brittle so I’ll have to get some myself. I have some old ones that are off an Estate so if yours are still fitted and you need measurements let me know.
Tim Bell Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 Thanks both. Will look into it and get back to you re measurements as needs be. Many thanks.
