Pete Lewis
go to christ witor https://www.chriswitor.com/categories.php?cat=284 im pretty sure 1 5/8" is only mk1 my 74 mk2 is 1 1 7/8" the most fiddly fit is the suspended clamp in front of the rear suspn X member hole hands and fitting all get in your way. Woody2000
Emailed Chris Whittor as I have seen a second hand stainless steel complete exhaust for a auto and he told me that mine was 1 5/8” ?? then I asked if I needed to change the exhaust manifold he said they were the same ?? so I am a bit confused 🤷♂️ will try and measure across the pipe on mine and see ??? Pete Lewis
well he does list a centre section 1 7/8 to fit a 1 5/8 down pipe so a smaller down pipe must be on some models the down pipes listed only do 1 7/8 so its a bit imaterial the 1 7/8 down pipe will fit your mk2 manifold triangle there is only one gasket shown for mk2 and 2.5 exhaust flanges i cant see you will have any problems with a full 1 7/8 system ( but thats not a guarantee) Ha !
