Hiya, does anybody know what this bracket is for please?

the only thing comes to mind is a support/fixing for a  engine bay  side shield

or is it what the rad overflow bottle sits on?

What Johny said! There's a bit missing, a bracket sits on top to hold the bottle.

thats a good call ,    ( mine was too old to have one Ha ) 

so the next question  you have the bracket    Where's your expansion bottle ???

I put my overflow and screen wash bottles through the dishwasher, cleaned up nicely.
