Mathew Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 As my 2500s is getting more to how it should be ! Has anyone got some recommendations to exhausts preferably stainless as mine looks horrible and someone took a hammer to one of the boxes in the past . Also the carpet has seen better days . The back where in the past water has sat particularly poor. In the past i have bought carpet on a rool and cut my own section. This i might still do but i would prefer a nice fitted one.
Pete Lewis Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 coverdale excellent reports and three grades of carpet https://www.carcarpets.co.uk/triumph--20002500-mk2-380-c.asp Pete 1
Mathew Posted April 15, 2021 Author Report Posted April 15, 2021 They look alright pete. But which one to go for? Anyone had one of there carpets? I think i got one for my 13/60 many years ago at a show but not sure.
dougbgt6 Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 Mathew, I got Coverdale Kensington 80% wool, very nice! Phone them up, they will send samples. Also they will do things not on the web site (Oo er Mrs!) They didn't advertise Kensington for GT6 MK3, but when I asked they said they'd try it. Doug 1
Nigel Clark Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 For the exhaust, why not try Chris Witor? He won't sell anything if he's not completely happy with the quality. And assemble it with Mikalor clamps, as has been discussed recently in the Cooling System forum. Nigel

Pete Lewis Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 yes Im waiting on stock of either sports or semi sports centres I cut the front silencer off and fitted a flexi braided sleeve sounds better but there no easy way to solve a middle mount as the flex allows some droop ,its got a falcon rear silencer, tail pipe just dont need three silencers but dont want a boy racer chris will send me whatever comes in stock first , early May but im in no rush
Mathew Posted April 15, 2021 Author Report Posted April 15, 2021 Probably will have to wait as well, hopefully when back together will be ok, been distracted today. Will have to phone tomorrow. Looking like i will go for the middle option on the carpet. I have decided to concentrate on the 2500s this year. Get it running well and looking fine. I have a few improvement plans for the puma spitfire that will wait till either late this year or early next. The yellow spitfire will progress once the 2500s is ok, but only with bits i already have. I Probably have all i need apart from seats (was going to use the puma spitfire ones and replace them). Still its good to hear others experience before i spend out. On the carpet, thanks for the heads up on coverdale, unless anybody says otherwise or said there is a big difference between the second and third option i will go to the second option. Pete, had you not considered rimmers exhaust system? I will ring CW tomorrow and find out obout their's. My system at the moment is close to the propshaft near the diff and there are some marks on the propshaft. This i suspect is why one of the boxes has recieved a few large hammer blows. I am on holiday till the 26th and want to take it on the norfolk area treasure hunt on the 25th.
Pete Lewis Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 I trust CW and rimmers prices are way above , no contest they may all come from the same place who knows . i can wait , whats on will last for years but the flex needs to change to solid tube hence sod it get a replacement . Pete
Nigel Clark Posted April 15, 2021 Report Posted April 15, 2021 Focusing on one car is a sure fire way to make progress. It's great to have multiple classics, but there's never enough 'playtime' to get them all perfect! Nigel

sulzerman Posted April 16, 2021 Report Posted April 16, 2021 I have a Chris Witor system, excellent fit. Probably worth waiting for. 1
