Looking forward to this programme, hopefully some footage of the Standard Triumph and Rootes factories as well as Jaguar?

I'll just film it on super8 and do my own commentary.

Maybe dig out my Elizabethan reel to reel and synchronise with a clapboard :)

I had an Elizabethan open reel as well. Small world. I think that's a clapperboard.

A good programme, with insight into the leaders of the Coventry motor industry from their family descendants.

Anyone notice Chris Allen (former TSSC Birmingham Area Organiser), in the Herald with presenter Mark Evans at MIRA?

I scanned for Triumph content... I think there was some new footage I have never seen before... Very little Spitfire/GT6/TR stuff .... I will watch it in its entirety later...

Thanks for the link, watched tonight, some new bits and an interesting programme. Just thought it was a bit rushed towards the end. Could have been a two part programme, I'm sure they cut alot that could have gone in.

My thoughts exactly!

Usually the Stag makes an appearance on such shows given its supposed problems...

Certainly makes you wonder what could have been if it wasn’t for the cumbersome inefficient cost cutting impersonal BMC machine combined with powerful union action and poor government combining in a perfect storm to decimate the industry reputation.

A lot to be said about keeping it smaller and more manageable.

Really interesting!

I found the programme fascinating, ended up watching it twice😁

Lots of archive footage I've never seen before too.

A good mixture of footage on a lot of the Coventry Manufacturers, Chris Allen's excellent 12/50 Herald featured and some good Rally footage of the Hillman Imp too.

All in all a great programme
