petegardner_901
Hi I'm pretty sure of the answer but can someone with a bigger brain than mine confirm the correct position of the connector on the end of the choke linkage - the bit with the spring clip that fits on the jet. Pics: I assume it's pic 2 where the link is UNDER the jet flange
Pete Lewis
its brilliant when none of the manuals give you a shot of this , initial idea would be the top picture as the choke effort is to pull the jet down so the rod reacts on the casting the clip holds it in place (edit ignore all that see below ) and while youre in there prise the wax cap off add 2x 1p peice and the small spacer inside and refit to get rid of the waxstat problems cheap fix works wonders EDIT found a clue in the 2000 manual shows the opposite the rod ball under the cast lug clip flat on top as you lower picture !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! petegardner_901
Hey Pete Good detective work there. I spent hours trying to find a picture but as you say - nothing. All back together now and the Spit is running beautifully Pete G
Pete Lewis
pleased that worked out there is gremlin in workshop manuals in the one little bit of simple explanation is always Missing Triumph were very good at it having the clip as thee pull down does seem a little odd but SU are a little odd in the first place have you tried the 1p fix to waxstats if you start to get hot running sillys get your pennies out it really works never buy the daft priced load of rubbish sold as a conversion as nothing fits Pete
