Fraser64
Can anyone help me with identifying the 4 switches on the enclosed photo of the dash of the 1500 Spitfire I have just bought. There are 4 flick switches where the 'normal' light rocker switch is, 2 either side of a couple of jewel lamps. The left 2 operate the lights, side and main beam, but all the right 2 appear to do is light the jewel lamps. I have never seen a dash like this, the car is a late W reg 1500. Thanks in advance. Clive
That is a conundrum! I would guess at extra lights, either spots, fogs (front or rear) but there are plenty of possibilities. An electric fan, heated window on a hardtop, ejector seat, who knows? think it is time for you to investigate and see where the wires lead. You may get lucky, especially if the PO left the wires loose under the dash and not taped into a loom.
PJM Stag
Those dash switches are not standard so you will needto trace the wires, good luck
Fraser64
Part of my confusion is that the dash looks like it was designed this way, there are no old holes that have been blanked, it looks like a genuine, original thing.
Pete Lewis
Custom panels are avaiable from most suppliers even home made its certainly not an original its previous owner specified aftermarket fitment pete
rlubikey
The central gauge isn't standard - that's where the light switch was and the (previously rectangular) hole has been enlarged. I'm afraid you'll have to experiment and/or trace the wiring to discover what the previous owner's done. Richard
