In my life time my brother has stripped 4 sump bolt threads, he can't help it, he is a gorilla, just one more turn!

club shop sold a uk easy drain valve but on some the clearnce sump/to side rail caused restriction in it fitting on some 6 cyl engines 

good idea if a slim one is available in £s rather than $

no seen it on the shelf and advert in courier   its not stocked now

I've started to get lazy; put a car in for an oil change two weeks ago. To be honest it was a Freelander and I couldn't get the engine undershield off due to rusted bolts, plus my lift was occupied, so the local garage man did it for £20; I've started to use him for mundane things like brake pads as I get bored doing those on moderns.

Re leaking sump nuts - my rebuilt gearbox is dripping and the bottom plug seems tight, but still leaks, so I went for a hex-headed nut with copper washer and that cured it.
