Diff rebuild mk2 GT6

Gt6 mk2 diff whining a fair bit and there seems to be fair bit of play when taking up drive causing a clunk (worse when warm).  Thinking of a rebuild.  Also thinking of changing it from 3.89 to 3.63.  So, is it Mike Papworth or any other recommends?  I’m based in North York’s but don’t think there is anyone nearby unless someone knows otherwise? 
Any thoughts on the above gratefully received.

To change to a 3.63 will effectively be another diff. Unless you buy a new CWP (not cheap) 

But a few places offer rebuilt diffs. Fitchetts are one. No doubt others. 

I think Mike is taking a break until November? And I expect has a queue forming for when he returns. But if you are prepared to wait.....

I don't know whether Marcus Bewley up in Cumbria still does diffs? My GT6 has one of his.

I have one of his in our Spitfire and it has covered 10,000+miles and still seems quiet

if you go for a fitchetts diff you loose the surcharge if its not like for like 

i used one on the Vit6 it was OK 

the diff case/carrier can change with the ratio due to the offset of the pinion and crownwheel thickness/stand off

Well,  spoke to Fitchetts.  Because I went for a new CWP they agreed to fit a 3.63 and swap the case over to a 6 stud.  Thus same price as a recon new cwp diff and will get the surcharge back on my 3.89. Compared to others,  Fitchetts are a good price even for a new CWP and were very helpful.
