haggis Posted October 16, 2015 Report Share Posted October 16, 2015 Hello again, anyone have an idea about the weight of a 6 cylinder engine for the purposes of a crane & engine stand? the stand will only take the full engine but the crane will do gearbox as well. KevinR Posted October 16, 2015 Report Share Posted October 16, 2015 Engine plus gearbox are probably in the order of 250Kg. The thing about engine cranes is the amount that they can lift with the arm extended far enough to get at the engine to lift it. I would suggest getting an engine crane that can lift at least 250Kg with the arm fully extended. You'd be surprised by the number of 1 & 2 Ton cranes that have a very low lift capacity when the arm is fully extended. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
