  1. Think I've got the right answer. Massey Ferguson tractor! Yes really!
  2. Hi all, Anyone know which car Standard Triumph sourced the rear hatch handles from on the works rally cars? Or were they a bespoke item (seriously doubt it!) Thanks! Jon
  3. Thanks for the info chaps. I'm thinking fixed windows with slot. I'll take the plunge and have a go! :-) As for the flyscreen - the intention isn't to make a Le Mans replica per se. More a period boy racer! I have a photo of a MK2 SAH Spitfire with this bonnet and a fly screen and think it looks pretty cool; I'm pairing an SAH Bonnet, a W&P fastback roof, Some Le Mans wheels and some period engine parts from SAH all available circa 1967 when my mk3 was built. - All very tastefully done of course :-)
  4. Hi all, can anyone recommend a supplier of polycarbonate side windows. Looking to get a set for my mk3 Spitfire. Whilst on the same type of subject, looking to fit a fly screen as fitted to the Le Mans cars. Can anyone advise the type of clips used to fix this to the bonnet? It'll be fitted to a fibreglass bonnet btw. Thanks all Jon
  5. Thanks for the info everyone. I'll hold on and see what happens with the club shop. Trying to make my mk3 Spit a little racier and do "more with it!" SAH bonnet and Le Mans wheels fitted shortly to go with the fastback roof and a fast road head and cam and a de cambered rear spring. Probably do some regularity rally events later in the year! Thanks again everyone.
  6. Thanks Colin, so a remanufactured is on the cards then? Any further details?
  7. Thanks Clive. Good to know it will fit! The head is a period SAH stage 2 - I have the specs of what comprised their stage 2, and will be matched to a SAH 26 profile cam their stromberg 150 twin carb upgrade.
  8. Hi all, I have a stage 2 cylinder head that I acquired :-) for my mk3 Spitfire. I was told it was fitted to a mk3 previously but on checking parts numbers the Abingdon tuning guide says the head fits a Triumph 1300 - is this compatible? Anyone know whether this will fit an early mi3 spit engine? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the thoughts both. I have some photos and I guess with the front fitment being located with the anti roll bar it should give me a clue :-) likewise the aperture for accessing the sump drain plug which will give me a clue on the length. Probably use aluminium rather than Steel though. I seem to recall Garth being pestered (not just by me!) a few years ago to get some remanufactured so though he might have specs :-)
  10. Anyone have one the dimensions for one of these? I have some photos but length/width dimensions would be useful as well as more info on the chassis side and rear chassis fittings. Of course if anyone has one that surplus to requirement please let me know! Thanks everyone.
