  1. Hi All

Tony & I would like to go next year and we live in Burnley, Lancashire. As we have never been before and we are not wised up to travelling abroad, we would like to join up with another car or group of cars.

I have a 1970 GT6 MKII that which I have owned for 27 years and this year, it has undertaken a comprehensive upgrade including replacement driveshafts, Revotec Electric Fan, Brake Servo and new drums & discs etc. at Willow Triumph, Darlington........... Tim was very helpful and gave plenty of advice when asked!

After reading the information in the Courier magazine, I have a couple of initial questions:-

    • What happens during the day?
    • What happens after the weekend has finished, do people go home or extend their holiday?
    • What does the Lemans organiser's' picnic basket consist of and does it become a souvenir?

Many thanks and I will read with interest

    Maria

  2. Hi all and  thanks for your replies and I will advise the outcome once completed. I am cheating however, and having them done for me by a gauges refurbishment company. They are doing other bits as well.

Anyway, in response to your query regarding my name. it is officially Maria, but my nickname is Meeze. It is rare that  people use my proper name and I think it came from my sister, when she was younger, couldn't pronounce Maria

  3. Hi All

I've received the Heritage Certificate which I recommend and my car came out of the factory with KD/80451-E engine, which I believe to be anti-smog!  I presume this to be something to do with the emissions, so can some one please give me a bit of info on what Triumph did to this engine to make it anti-smog?

The previous owner has informed me that the original engine was warn, so he replaced this with an 'KE'

    Thanks

  4. Thanks for your top tips. I can confirm that it is recessed and I do recall that the cylinders were domed when I had the head unleaded.

This has all come about as I am going to order a Heritage Certificate and realised that I had a MKIII head

  5. Hi All

I have a late MKII GT6, Comm No. KC81310 first registered 10.09.1970 and the engine is a MKIII KE10893HE.

Firstly, would it be possible that this could have been fitted in the factory and secondly, I also believe that this is a recessed block so does this mean that it has the domed cylinder, high compression.?

Finally, could some one fill me in on the differences between the two engines

    Many thanks

    Maria
