Can anyone recommend a good place to take my mk3 spitfire for service, parts etc? I am thinking of going to PD motors on slater street in Leicester but only because I don't know of anywhere else. Thoughts?

Can someone knowledgeable please pass judgement on the way I've folded the roof in the pics? Also, I'm filling up later, how much of the additive do I add to a full tank and what does it do? Many thanks for your experience and patience!

Pete I'm not sure what you mean? Yes it was a self valuation in that I accurately described the condition and sent detailed pics of the current condition and evidence of previous work. I now have a certified valuation so thought this would be enough in the event of a claim? Could you elaborate on the 'club valuation' please? I'm a sponge and want to learn everything there is to know!

Yes, you're correct. I bought the car from a dealer and I knew the roof wasn't right so looked up how to fold it away properly and it's now as it should be! Not sure what you meant by 'buying a good afternoon' but I think that may be a misprint! I've had it valued via Lancaster insurance and it is indeed north of £10k. It is a lovely car, every time I see it I smile!

Hi all. Just bought my first classic car, a Mk3 Spitfire as the title infers. I love it and driving around the Leicestershire countryside in the recent sunshine is great for the soul! Can anyone recommend a triumph specialist local to me in the Loughborough area? I'd like to book it in for a once over and see if I need to change anything and to confirm it's a good buy!
