  1. Hi Graham. Bresco were brilliant! They actually sell a kit for £12.99. Very helpful and very reasonable I thought! Thanks again.
  2. Thanks. I reckon I could adapt those if necessary.
  3. I'm looking for 2 of these clips for my GT6 mark 3. I think that Canley call them spire clips and studs. Unfortunately Canley don't stock them. I've found a company called SD Products that sell them (see photo) but you have to buy 50! Any ideas where else I might find them or perhaps suggestions for an alternative way of holding the panel down? I've thought about Dzus fasteners but not sure they'd do the trick Thanks Keith
  4. Thanks for your reassurance guys. I'll wear less clothing!
  5. Took the GT6 on a long run today to Silverstone. This was the longest drive I've done since buying the car. It was a very hot day but I was concerned at how hot the metal part of the gear knob became. Is this normal or could there be an issue I need to look at? Thanks

    GT6 tyres

I'm looking to replace all 4 tyres on my Mk3 GT6. I want a decent quality (premium) brand. Any recommendations? Cheers
  7. I've just noticed that the brake servo on my 1973 GT6 is leaking brake fluid (not from either of the 2 hydraulic connecting pipes). Do you think the unit could be repairable or do I need to start looking for a replacement? Canley classics have quoted £308. thanks Keith
  8. Thanks for your advice chaps - much appreciated. Pete - I live in Flitwick so not far from Luton. I'll take you up on your offer of having a listen to it.
  9. My GT6 Mk 3 ( non-rotoflex) is running fine until I get to around 50mph when I start to get a vibration from thew rear of the car which gets worse and noisier as speed increases. The tyres and rims are fine and balanced. I can't see anything obvious wrong with the wheel bearings or UJs. There doesn't seem to be any excess play or clunks. I'm left thinking that it could be prop shaft related (out of balance?) or maybe it is the bearings or UJs? Is there an easy way to track down the fault? Have I missed something obvious? Don't want to mess around removing the prop or wheel bearings if they're ok. Thanks
  10. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give one of them a try (not the split-pin idea!) Cheers - Keith
  11. I've attached a photo of the NSR trunnion housing on my GT6. You can see that the cap (grease retaining) has worked loose and is no longer attached. How do you suggest I re-attach it? I've tried gently tapping it but it won't stay in place. Many thanks - Keith
  12. Hi Pete Thanks for the advice. Very helpful. Please add my name to the Herts and Beds area emails. Keith
  13. I'm replacing the gearbox/overdrive oil on my GT6 (D type overdrive). The handbook states that I should clean the overdrive oil filter which I've located behind the inspection plate. I can't work out how to remove it (the filter). I'm worried about damaging it. Does it unscrew? Thanks
  14. I've recently acquired a lovely GT6 Mark 3. One or two issues to sort out the first being really 'vague' steering which I've discovered is due to a faulty rack to column shaft steering knuckle. Haven't had a good look yet but at least one of the securing bolts seems loose and the knuckle looks generally dodgy. Am I correct in thinking this part has been superseded by a UJ? If so, does it fit on without any other adjustments? I'm a newbie so sorry if this sounds a daft question! Second question is where do you recommend I go to for spares? I've used Rimmer Bros in the past. Cheers.
