  1. Pete, good point about the service tech notes. Does the Club have these in the archives somewhere?
  2. hi, anyone spotted incorrect dimensions in the Vitesse workshop manual? I think I have the correct WSM for the year - it references mk2 anyway. I'm preparing to replace the front chassis tube on my mk2 Vitesse, and I've been checking over reference dimensions to mark up the cuts. I haven't checked all the dimensions on the diagram, just the ones that relate to the front tube, but I've found one conversion error (inches to cm) and one dimension that is completely different to the actual dimension on the car. Which has made me wonder about the overall accuracy of the diagram itself. Has anyone else found any discrepancies? Is there perhaps a more up to date diagram than the one I've got (official red binder WS manual, third issue)?
  3. Thanks both, I've already looked at the eBay item (I mean I bought it and returned it!) - it doesn't have the full extension which I need at least for the RH side. However, I've been back to Chic Doig today and he's taking a look through his treasures - so, I'm hoping I'll get lucky!
  4. hi, recently bought myself a Vitesse mk2 convertible, and have just discovered some old accident damage to the RH front extension (the box section extending from under the engine to the front tube). The tell-tale was the bonnet alignment ... obvious in hindsight, of course! Does anyone have a RH front extension (or a LH/RH pair would be even better) that they'd be willing to part with. I think I'm right in saying the Herald 13/60 has the same chassis layout at the front, so Herald part would be fine. I'd be happy with NOS or recycled sections - but it must be straight! Failing that ... any leads on where I might find one (tried Canley's). Thanks John
  5. Hi, I've been trying to get in touch with the Shop regarding an update on an in progress order. Multiple calls and several emails over the past week or two have had no response. Is the shop staffed at the moment?
  6. Hi, thanks for the reply. Richard Briscoe is a good lead - I'm fairly sure he's still active, I'll give him a call. I did read through the Canley method and it's the next contender if I can't get hold of the correct tool.
  7. hi all, just re-joined the Club after a 40 year break! I'm reliving my youth having just bought a Mk2 Vitesse (had a Mk1 40 years ago, so making progress!). I'm just rebuilding the back end hubs and want to have a go at the workshop manual method of setting up the bearing end float, which of course, needs the Churchill special tool S.325. From looking at the manual pictures, it appears to be a three part tool? Has anyone got one of these that they would be willing to loan out? I'll happily pay a deposit, and of course postage costs to/fro. Drop me a message if you can help out. Thanks
