clive morton
Hi everyone, really hoping someone on here can help us. I'm helping a friend who isn't online, to rebuild a Mark IV Spitfire. We have a problem with the door latch assembly. The key locking lever does not lock or unlock the latch, we are not sure where the key barrel link fits into the link off the door handle assembly, which has a spring clip held in place with a cotter pin. This clip appears to have opened up, giving too much loss motion to the key barrel link. Does anyone know about this problem, and how to rectify it and whether the link should be assembled in the top closed section, or bottom closed section of this spring clip? Thanks for any help that can be offered Clive
