Hello all. I've replaced my dizzy with an electronic ignition system but need to do the timing on my '73 GT6. I set the timing to 13 degrees BTDC using a strobe, but its running very slow and barely ticking over. On various sites I've seen 10 degrees BTDC and also 6 degrees ATDC recommended. Has anyone any recommendations as to a better angle? I also don't fully understand the whole advance/retard requirements so explanation and or advice welcome. David

Pete Thanks for this. I'm new to this forum, having recently acquired a spitfire mk iv. I have MWS spoked wheels that require tubes. I spoke to MWS who have quoted fairly high prices for reasonably standard tyres (tubeless) that could be fitted (plus tubes, fitting etc. etc.) Does anyone on the forum know of a tyre fitting outfit in the Woking (Surrey) area that can supply/fit tubed tyres (with tubes) and balance the wheels at a reasonable price?
