    13/60 engine mounts

Thanks chaps, approaching this in a circumspect manner appears to be good advice, what was that about if it ain’t broken….
  2. My engine mounts are looking a bit scabby and no doubt ready for a change. I do remember tackling this job a long time ago. Anyway my MO would be to place trolley jack under sump, disconnect the fuel flexi pipe, loosen nuts on mounts and raise engine on trolley jack. Any advice, pitfalls, or best mounts for the job gratefully received.
  3. Here is a picture of my 1360, my first car way back in 1979. Looking resplendent under the Humber Bridge after it opened in 1982. I remembered a story in the Times, in that the first car over the Humber Bridge was a 1972 reg Triumph Herald estate, as the chairman of the commission bought it new in 1972 when the decision to build the bridge was confirmed and it took 10 years to build. I took the Herald all over, including a trip to Holland, I have a picture parked next to a left hand drive 1200 in Nijmegen somewhere. Anyway on my fifth one about 50 years later!
  4. Thanks for some useful pointers, a trip to Halfords sounds on the cards, and I’ll check out Toolstation as well.
  5. I would like to tidy up the air filter housing and rocker box on my 13/60. They are in a matt silver and the moment. Any recommendations for supplier? Also would the same paint do to tidy up wheels? Thanks in advance.
  6. Material of construction is metal. I’ll fit it to lower part of the dashboard clamp with confidence now, regards Carl
  7. I posted about replacing steering column bush, but couldn’t shift the steering wheel nut. Anyway managed this bush change by removing the inner and outer column together from car today🙂, so I’m pleased with handy work. I have a bit left over! And wondered if anyone knew where it lived on the 1360 column. Exploded diagrams in Haynes an WSM, don’t help. thanks Carl
  8. Thanks Josef, I can certainly try that. Didn’t think of that, I would have followed Haynes otherwise, which is fine until something is unwilling to come apart or home garage tools won’t budge it!
  9. I have 13/60 saloon, that needs the top steering column bush replaced. Trouble is that the steering wheel nut is well and truly tight. Before going to ask friendly garage to help with a bit more leverage, I was laterally thinking if there was enough room to remove the inner column with steering wheel still attached? Then remove outer column, replace bush and refit in the reverse way. Just wondered if anyone else had done it that way.
  10. Don't really have room in home garage to do a full strip down. Is it possible to replace top ball joint on the front suspension on the car, without removing coil spring? The kit from Rimmers includes the bushes for the top wishbone arms, but these look good on the car as is, so wasn't proposing to remove. Any help gratefully received.
