  1. From the album: '71 TR6 ... and a bit of non-Triumph!

No laughing now ... used weldable waterpiping to make up the inlet manifolding. Worked a treat. I believe "robust" was the word. Sucked through (variously) a Jetski carb (off some Rotax-powered device), a 40 DCOE, and an HS6. SU worked best overall.

One of the few photographs I could find of my 2 litre turbocharged proper Mini (RG26 5SA, 1998 or so). Car was rather quick but a bit lethal in roundabouts. Was fun though. Insanity. Behind lurketh my Lancia Dedra which was the daily driver. Well, the other daily driver.

Plenum setup instead ... quieter ... bit less grunt ... but had to try it.
  4. From the album: '71 TR6 ... and a bit of non-Triumph!

This setup did itself proud over 60,000 miles and about 12 years. Nothing broke. Ever. Most fun out of 151hp and 590 kg of Mini. One of my past toys. More to come!

My TSCC (of SA) enamel badge ... one of two. The other one has a marvellous 'typo' in the badge, reading "Triumph Sport Car Club of Southern Africa". That one has amusement/scarcity value to me, ergo does not go on a car. Trouble is I need to work out which box it was hidden in ... aaargh!
  6. Good morning all - I'm new to the TSSC, but not to the world of Triumph, having been involved with the (P)TSCC* in an old colony, far, far away! My two favourites are my first Triumph, a white '64 Spitfire 4, and a tasty '73 yellow (Mimosa) GT6 Mk3. Grumbles .... no longer have either! Alright, alright ... around 1990 or so, I also thoroughly enjoyed my 2500 TC Mk2 automatic. Armed with some 'super-slip non-grip' General R-280 radials (yes, 185/80 13s), it was a surprisingly capable long-distance carryall. And did I mention driftable at the prod of a pedal? I digress ... Annoyingly, my '71 TR6 lives across the Big Water in the south of the US ... under the care of my retired dad for now. Long story there. The TR is a long way from perfect, though looks nice'n shiny when photographed, but was (is?) meant to be put through a proper resto sometime. Hah. To keep? Or to pass on in favour of my true wish - a solid GT6 Mk3 ... or probably better still seeing as I am getting soft, a Stag. (Heck, a forrin' V8 by Rover or a Triumph straight six also OK ... restoration to TV8 would happen in time). O the woes! If I whip myself into a frothy of action, I'll scan in some more photos of Triumphs past. Need to find 'em first though! Somewhere ... somewhere ... *detective work, if the clue's not working for you! Best etc etc, Paul

"NOS" HIF44s fitted in place of some extremely ropey Stromberg 175s, and correct-ish needles/springs courtesey of Burlen Fuel Systems. FASD (ye Colde Starte System) blue plastic housing visible. Turns out it's possible to get the FASD to work without the 'lectronic gubbins originally fitted. These NOS HIF44s were originally intended for the Indian market SD1 2 litre.

1971 US-Spec TR6 O/D ... some tasty Datsun 240z-sourced 14 inch (yes...) alloy wheels. I was going to change them, but they're different at least! Car is now a good driver ... but will need a proper restoration sometime. Lives in the US for now ...
