  1. Can a mk2 Vitesse 2.0 engine safely rev to 6000 rpm? It has forged pistons and shot peened and tufrided crank and rods with arp bolts. Also what would I need to do if I wanted a rev limit of 7000 rpm. Thanks

  2. Hi I’m going to have the suspension set up soon and want to know ideal setting. The car is a Mk 2 Vitesse, with Gaz dampers all round, adjustable coil overs on the front, and adjustable top arms. Wheels are 6 inch mini lites with 185/60 tyres. It’s modified quite a bit so a fast road set up would be good. I understand you should put a weight on both seats What should that be? Car also has a limited slip diff if that makes a difference. Thanks

  3. Hi I’m trying to set the correct amount of end float on my Vitesse rear bearings. There were know spacers or shims in there so I’m starting from scratch. I currently have .155 spacer in there and there is clearly to much end float so I’m going to fit a thinner one. What is the best way to measure the amount of end float. I’ve read canleys way of doing it but can’t grasp what he means. Is it a case of build it up dry and just have a tiny amount of end float then strip it and grease bearings. Thanks.

Thanks for that Gengis, your wheels are very smart. How long did it take them to do the job?                                                                                                                                                                                   Rob

Took about a week. I had these refurbed because they are 6 inch wide not 5.5 and 6 inch are hard to get hold of. If yours are 5.5 it is cheaper to by new.

  5. Ok Im very confused. Ive been restoring a mk2 Vitesse and it’s all up and running and fine done around 155 miles. I’ve wanted to replace the studs for longer ones for alloy wheels. I brought the correct tool to remove the hubs, fitted everything back together drove down the road and now have a wheel bearing noise from N/S. Striped it out again to find the inner bearing damaged. My question is do all mk2 Vitesse haves spacer between the 2 bearings as I’m sure when I originally striped car when I restored it there were non. And I’ve had know problems until now when I’ve taken it apart to change the studs.

  6. I want to fit static 3 point seat belts in the back of my Vitesse convetable. Has anyone got any pictures of frame work that they have made to attach them safely? I know there’s a company London way that makes frame work up for them but it is bit of a trek for me. Thanks

  7. I don’t think it’s the outer seal that’s leaking, that’s dry it’s where the outer housing with the 4 bolt meets up to the diff housing. Looks like it’s just sealed with a silicon sealer. So if I undo the 4 Allen key bolt I should be able to resell this. Is that correct. I should say this is a diff that has been rebuilt 3 years ago but not been used until now so all gaskets and seals a new

  8. Hi I'm fitting 3 point inertia belts in the front and was wondering where the best place is to mount the inertia part of the belt. Also plan to have 3 point seat belts put in the back by a company called quick fit safety belts. Has anyone got any pictures of there work, I don't want to mount it in the way of the frame work they fit. Thanks

I should have a few, I'll check the garage and report back. Is it the button / press part, or the entire handle?

Yep, have two with no pitting but definitely requiring rechroming. The upper one is shinier and would do for a while at a pinch, but they're both in  need of some shiny stuff.
