corbo62
On the Herald convertible, the rubber hood seal to the side window (part 609340) has me confused. On some parts of the alloy hood channel, viewed from outside of the car, its fitted concave and on other parts its fitted convex. Which is the correct way round? Also, for the curved rear alloy channel section (called weather strip retainer, B post, 704463 by Rimmers) am I right in thinking that I have to remove the rubber hood seal before I can unscrew the rear channel from the car. If so, how do I get the rubber hood seal out of the channel without ruining it? Many thanks Andrew
trigolf
On my Vit, the entire length of seal is fitted concave i.e. the two lips face against the glass, which I believe is the correct way. To remove parts of the alloy retaining channel, you gently pull the seal out of the channel to access the retaining bolts. A blunt screwdriver helps to lever it out, used with care.
