Spitfire 1500 - Project - Any Interest - What is she worth?

Hi,

After 20 years of fun, memories and great journeys, the repairs made by the previous owner have caught up over time and are well beyond my capabilities and budget. It will need an experienced brave new owner to replace the sills, floor pans, inner wings and associated panels.

So I need to offer my car has not road worthy, a project or most likely a breaker. I'm based in Oxfordshire, the interior is already stripped out (photographed and fully itemised), obviously transport will be required.

Covered a total of 25,000 miles in 20 years. Fully serviced each year. Runs great, all gears engage well, overdrive fully functional. Whine from diff at speeds over indicated 70mph, which has never got worse during ownership. Kept in a carport. Used on dry days only.

·         Engine has unleaded head, spin on oil filter, oil cooler, alloy rocker cover, silicon hoses. Small oil leaks from the usual places. No oil top ups required during the year (1,000 miles covered on average)

·         New windscreen and stainless steel trim (with 2 small minor chips)

·         Hi-torque starter motor

·         New rear bumper

·         Aldon electronic ignition, sports coil & HT leads

·         Monroe shocks, lowered sports front springs, poly wishbone & antiroll bar bushes

·         Full width 3 core radiator fitted last year with Pacet electric fan & thermostat

·         Stainless steel free flow manifold, sports exhaust, and brakes hoses front & back

·         The SU carbs, which were reconditioned when I purchased, have yellow springs, K&N filters, stub stacks, AAQ needles, and are correctly tuned

·         Other upgrades include Halogen headlights, Minilite Alloys (never kerbed, almost like new), and EBC green stuff front pads
