Lever Arm Damper Outrigger removal?

Recommended Posts

Morning All

I'm new to the forum, but can't find an answer from previous posts.

I have a Vitesse Mk2 with CV conversion. I have just replaced the lever arm shock absobers with telescopic shocks. Has anyone or should I remove the, now redundant, outrigger brackets that the original lever arm dampers were attached to?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Paul

Presumably you have used the original chassis top mounts if you have CV Driveshafts?

Unless you want to save a bit of weight I would leave the Lever Arm Chassis mounts in place in case a future owner wishes to convert back

PS - Which make of Telescopic Damper (Shock) have you chosen?

Gary

Thanks Gary, that makes sense regarding the future owner, not sure I'd save much weight, if I need to the dog can go on a diet. Yes, I have used the original top mounts. Given that I don't need to avoid the rotoflex doughnuts, there was no need to use the aftermarket extension brackets, which is a bonus as I didn't fancy lifting the body to insert them.

As for the shocks, I just bought the standard ones from Rimmers. I've also replaced all the bushes with blue polybush.

Cheers Paul
