SpitfireGeorge
Hi Guys, Bought a new hood for my 67 Spit Mk3. The original metal rubber seal channel has rusted beyond use. They are no longer available so I bought a 3 piece channel for the mk4. A stupid question but does the seal go on the hood or the windscreen surround, it has been 40 years since it last had a hood fitted. Can anybody upload a photograph of it fitted? Thanks, Brett
Josef
It goes on the hood header rail, rivets through the channel, hood fabric then the frame itself. Do you have the early (Herald style) or late (square tail style) hood catches? I imagine the former if you were looking for a continuous seal channel? I’ll post a photo of mine later when I can get out in the garage.
SpitfireGeorge
Thanks Josef, Mine are the over-centre ones which hook over the solid fittings on the header frame. Cheers, Brett
