Lowering block and studs

Recommended Posts

Installing a lowering block (half inch), and perhaps foolishly  didn't notice which way up the studs are fitted. The threaded  ends are different lengths. Firstly are they the same thread, and secondly which end screws into the diff. Any help, please. I did wonder while pondering this why they can't be replaced with a bolt?

Yes same thread and shorter section goes into diff which leaves the longer threaded part to allow the release of the spring tension. Also the diff casing holes are not blind so screwing the long section into them might mean they interfere with the internals...
