Liam O’Neil
Good evening, recently removed the carpets of my spitfire to reveal original floors in pretty good condition, Ive a vehicle welder taking car of some rather bad patch work around the footwells this weekend, I was wondering what would be the best way to protect the original floors and the new welded areas. Would red oxide paint work? Thanks liam
JohnD
Weld-through zinc primer beforehand, seam sealer after, then more weld through before painting. Many will go on about POR15 etc, but under carpet, a good outdoor gloss is good. I used to say, Hammerite, but it ain't what it used to be! J.
