dave.vitesse Posted March 27, 2019 Report Share Posted March 27, 2019 One of the selling points for the Spit was that it offered an Overdrive option, this was not available on the Sprite or AH. The Spit also had more roomy cockpit. The rear suspension wasn't perceived as a problem back in the 1960's. You just drove it correctly, then no problems. As for performance, back then most cars had a top speed of 75 to 80 MPH and a 0 to 60 in 23 secs, so for it's day it did have a good performance. As then they are great fun to drive.
