spitfire fuel breather

Hi all, i need some advise. I have a 1978 spitfire 1500. I went to start it this morning after using it four weeks ago and it was really lumpy. I also noticed alot of fuel coming from one of the carburetor breather pipes. The engine has always run and started ok and i havent done any majors works to the fuel system. Any ideas what might be causing this.

There's a recent thread on here, "Stromberg 150 CD flooding" where a lot of relevant advice has been given. Have a look at that, there might be a clue to your problem. I would guess if your car's been standing for a month there may be some debris settled in the carb.
