  2. Thx a lot john for your message! So ! All plugs were out - throttle full open (carbs and inlet is out) I used my MGB battery that was fully charged. And yeah i have rotate on average 6 times but i waited to get the highest result. I doubt it s a battery problem, because i did c6 at the end and got higher results. But what do you think, is it still ok to run with this for a bit, even though it s not perfect ? Thx
  3. Also yeah it s late one with dome piston
  4. Hi guys here is my conpression test for my gt6 mk3, the head has new valves too. I know numbers don t matter, but there is a big variation... C1 dry 85 Wet 95 C2 dry 90 Wet 95 C3 dry 75 Wet 70 C4dry 73 Wet 70 C5 dry 100 Wet 100 C6 dry 105 Wet 125 Is it possible to have a lower result wet ?? But overall what do you guys think ? Thx
  5. It s been converted to 2.5 during a rebuilt, don t have much info from previous owner. But yeah, you could tell there was a lack of power, compare to my 1976 mgb the triumph was much slower, very low torque. Btw i m gonna post the results of my compression test on the engine section. If you guys got a sec and let me know what yoh think it ll be amazing
  6. It s a CD150, it has a choke temperature thing mounted on the side only on one of them, to adjust you need to insert a special allen key inside from the top, and the needle had a little spring, ID is 238 3581. Hope it helps ! Thx pete
  7. GT6 mk3 with 2.5, delco remy d204 i think.

  9. Hi everyone, tomorrow if the compression test i m doing is fine, i will install my new 6-3-1 manifold. I will then put a new phoenix twin sport SS exhaust and k&n filters. I know it sounds like chirstmas ! I was wondering do you reckon i will have to change the needles of my stromberg cd150, currently i use B5DG. Any thoughts ? Thx

  13. Now that i v put the cap on i see now: the rotor was on top of wire no1, i crancked the engine till no6 tdc and rotor was on top of no6, make sense now. Thx for that!
  14. thanks pete ! so it s fine right ? i just thought when no1 is on TDC the rotor was supposed to point at no1....

  16. Hi everyone, been away for long.... was in cuba, mechanicwise i saw crazy things out there, they are so smart and find ridiculous way to make those 50's / 60's car run. It s weird but it works ! i saw a firebird with a tractor engine.... ANYWAY ! I have to set up this oil cooler for my GT6 MK3 (don't judge me) I need to set up the thermostat and just wanted to check with you guys if it s the correct order. thank you so much for your help, and have a nice sunday !
  17. Here is waht Rimmer told me : -regarding the fact that there is an open plug without cap : "the grease plug is part number 133106 priced at £4.08+vat and the earth strap 130581 priced at £4.17+vat." -about the grease : "Thanks for the email, the new steering racks are greased and 'sealed for life' so don't have the old type thread for the grease plug/nipple, sorry." but still got the feeling there should be a cap on it or something. hope helps
  18. Gully ! had the same, when refitted the column, it wasn't align with the rack anymore, yeah that poly is lifting the all thing, crazy how you spend £££ on some piece of plastic, and good old rubber would fit better....
  19. just working on the distributor and when i fitted the new fuel pump (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-213577) it s kinda in the way... don't think fuel line for carbs will fit, so just thought, can i open it, rotate and refit ? construction looks like circular, so wouldn t make no difference right ? thx
  20. thx god your here pete ! i ll redo it this afternoon, sorry to bother but the haynes is an exploded view, so hard to tell where things goes... i ll let you know, thx again
  21. Good evening, anyone can double check my connection please ? - the earth is supposed to be from condenser to side ? - is there a gap value when the distributor is refitted ? thx a lot
  22. thx for quick answer, what about the poly bush, are they too big or is it normal ? thx
  23. Hello, I just got a steering rack from Rimmer, removed the old one, easy. got the new one in and now got couple of question. there is a picture of my old one, and it has the nut for grease, and the new rack came without.
