My 1969 Herald has the smaller tank, so presumably your 1968 car would have too if it still has the original tank.
I have been told that the larger tank can be fitted, and it is a straight swap.
I don't know how difficult a job it is, but I will soon find out because I have to take the tank out to replace the rear lamp unit.

I have heard of similar problems on a Ford, that turned out to be a faulty condenser.

Thanks .
The reverse light switch bracket and operating arm do look home-made but work very well!

I bought a gearbox from eBay that was advertised as being for a Herald 13/60.
However, as mentioned in another thread it had a reversing light switch and as far as I know Heralds were not fitted with reversing lights.
The number stamped on the top of the 'box looks like CB 150805.
Does anybody know if this is the correct 'box for my 1969 13/60 ?

Here is a better picture of the switch still on the 'box.
I tested it with a battery and spare light unit and it works!
Once I had cleaned it up I was able to remove the operating "arm" from the remote rod, it was held in by a pin. Not sure if the rod normally has a hole in the end? Had to take the remote off to be able to drift the pin out.
All removed and cleaned up a bit. The bracket and operating arm look home-made.
The actual switch is a Lucas part. It has the number SS10 1 on it. -

Hi,
I have a gearbox that I bought from eBay, that the seller said came from a Herald 13/60. It has a mechanical switch, fitted to the top of the gearbox housing, operated by the remote, which I assume is for a reversing light,
I don't want the switch so am happy to sell to anyone who wants it.
I can post a photo if anyone is interested.

I think the photo of your car has been scanned back to front.
The steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car .

As well as being a TSSC member I also run the web forum for another car owners' club and we have been having a similar discussion, but the fact is that the majority of members do not use the forum so we have to keep the magazine going for the foreseeable future.
I think the same applies here. If you compare the number of members using this forum to the total TSSC membership it must be a minority at the moment, although obviously this will increase in time.

The guys who were doing tuning at the South of England meet did a good job on my Herald carb, if anyone has their contact details.
I think they said they were from somewhere near Gatwick. -
Yes, I did!
And I spotted it in Classic Car Weekly.

I have often wondered why many new cars (e.g. VW/Audi/Skoda) still use DoT4. Now I know.
