  1. I've started changing the rear diff input shaft on my 1500 spitfire to a unit I got from The spitfire graveyard shop on eBay I took the old shaft out and found this tiny bit of broken copper sat on the bearing anybody know what is? I was thinking of replacing the sump plug with a magnetic sump plug anybody know where I can get one from
  2. I just filled up the1500 spitfire I just bought on the way home as it was showing empty. Only took a fiver and it was full to the brim. Gauge is showing just under 1/2 full now even though it's full. Guy I bought it off says he's put in a new tank sender. Where do I start?
  3. I suppose it only makes sense to change the oil on the second-hand diff I've bought from the spitfire graveyard. What oil should I use and should I use something like a molyslip additive. I noticed one of the drive shaft input bearings was a bit grinding. So two new ones I've just arrived from rimmer brothers. Should I keep the one that's ok as a spur or should I just change them both?
  4. Having just bought my first spitfire after nearly 30 years without one I unfortunately had the rear diff explode on me on the way home. I've ordered a second-hand one from the spitfire graveyard but upon taking the original out I've noticed that the the rear mounting bolts on the differential should be 1 straight through bolt not two separate like mine was? It's a a Y reg 1978 and I see in the manual that only the very early ones that had two. Does it matter?
