It’s tricky but possible with care. Blue tak on your finger. But on blue tak. Through the speedo hole. Burr walnut  . Dash from GED in Crewe.  Great work.

Any spitfire box can be fitted. Although the 1500 ones need some mods.

They are offset because of the width of the tunnel and the lack of wheel arch intrusion. Just a quirk of design. After 36 years I don’t notice it 😎
