Fergusminto
Hi y’al. My Spit is Pimento Red and I need to give it a once over. However I am inclined to use water based paint and clear coat rather than that awful two pack stuff. Anyone had experience of using water-based? Where would I get it from? TIA. micklewis
water based has to be dried in a oven , or it end up on the floor when it rain . experimented on painting some construction equipment whilst out in canada . mick
Colin Lindsay
Takes days to dry. I have a local bodyshop who used it, and they complained bitterly about it as it delayed every job they took on. Like many modern things, it takes care and more attention than the traditional easier method, so yes: you can use it and get it to work satisfactorily, but it's not as straightforward as the solvent-based paints.
