Ignition barrel removal

Can someone give me some advice on how to remove the barrel from a 1500 Spitfire ignition switch.

I have the whole unit removed and the bottom plate removed allowing access to the internals but cant see an obvious method of pulling the barrel out other than brute force.

Any ideas would be helpful.

With the key in the barrel turn to on position, then on the side of the body there is a small hole insert a small screw driver or drill bit or similar

and press while pulling the barrel with the key and it should come out.

Ben's totally correct, you are pushing down on a sprung pin so you should feel the drill or whatever you are using push against the spring resistance. Its quite a firm Push needed
