brian GT6.
Hi, i'm going through everything that might cause a bit of clutch judder on my mk3 gt6. It's got new clutch and new master/slave cylinder. New engine mounts as well. The last thing on my list is new gearbox mount. To change this can I do it from underneath or is it best to take the gearbox tunnel off and do it from the top?
Pete Lewis
Sorry its tunnel off, the OD mount sits on top off the support plate only accessible from up,top One cause often unknown is after years of gearbox ons and offs the rear engine plate gets distorted and this misaligned the gearbox and clutch throw out. An invisble culprit in chasing judder What are the front diff mounts like ??? One more obscure one is it the new clutch has a 15mm thick throw out it alters the angle of the lever and this pitches the carrier As the pins in the lever are now below the shaff centre line Again makes judder the throw out brg, should be 19mm thick Can be solved by adding a washer or two under the pressed in sherical post. Re aligns the lever positions. Pete
