renebateman
have been having trouble with my 2000mk1loosing power when putting foot down.traced the problem to a faulty petrol pump, after a long debate I decided to fit a lucas electronic fuel pump suction type which can be fitted under bonnet. the pump supplies between 2.5/4.5 lbs of pressuretook it out for first run no probs but second time I went out on my return I found that the first carb was leaking fuel . is this because there is to much pressure would a malpassi fuel regulator cure problem .await your feedback cheers rene. Clive
Yep, very possible it is too much pressure. 2psi will be plenty for carbs. However, the other cause may be worn needle valves, but the malpassi is a very good idea anyway.

AidanT
Hi, did you / have you replaced the rubber fuel hose lately? Just a thought but that's where my leak was traced to - New injection pipe cost £2.00, and fixed! Aidan
renebateman
the fuel leak is actually from the carb not from any pipe but thanks for your reply.
