Must say I do like the sound of 3 cylinder engines!
Except the Ford Ecosport, (which sounds like Dougs), we had one blow 2 turbos and finally die due to oil supply issues with the wet cambelt system, they are terrible.

I have one on my 2.5 Vitesse. Alloy tank mounted next to the master cylinders, top outlet via a pipe to a tapping in the thermostat housing and bottom outlet via the manifold. No need for the expansion bottle.

Think I have a NOS one in my shed, I will have a look later.

Exact same for me on the 2012 RBRR, overtaken by my back wheel as we went up a hill near Lands End, sheared in the same place. Still have the shaft as a souvenir but the car now has Jones/Bowler CV`s. Car skidded to the verge on the wheelbarrow exhaust, no other damage but an 8 hour recovery back to Surrey with the AA.

I have an affection for the Hayling area as I have been going since I was about 5, my Gran used to have a caravan on a lovely site near the sea front, 12v car battery black and white TV, Calor gas lights, toilets in freezing block 100 yards away. Me and my brother loved the freedom.
Wonderful memories, always loved being near the sea.

Didnt even realise there was a storm here in Cambridgeshire - a few rain showers and that was it
Ditto here on the Surrey/Berkshire border, working in central London today and the same.
The Thames is looking ominous though, a few years ago the Eton flood relief scheme was completed, basically it pushes the water further downstream towards the plebs so their Cricket pitch stays dry.

Will try a flush first, the valve is a new one and the coolant looks blue still and not cruddy rust colour, how do I check if the water pump is circulating properly?.

Probably know the answer to this, my Vitesse heater is cold even when the engine is at full temperature, all hoses are hot, the flap control doesn`t appear to make much difference to air direction.
A couple of years ago I noticed the blower motor was intermittent but that turned out to be the switch, I found a NOS one on E bay and now the motor spins really well, just cold.
I guess it`s matrix out time?. It has a new Smiths valve on it which is wide open.

I had a brand new 1500 engine grenade with 4life in it,it needed a complete strip down as all the oil and waterways were filled with jelly.
Another rebuild later and I`ve gone back to water and blue anti freeze, expensive cock up.
We think it began with a cracked head and ended up with a spurt of water from no.2 spark plug hole.

Wheels look like period Alleycats to me.

My Herald did the same on a Round Britain run which turned out to be a 3 inch long fuel hose on the chassis rail which joined 2 metal pipes was sucking in air.
Replaced at night in Aberdeen and no further issues.
Engine would stutter under load and almost die but would tick over and rev fine when static.

Weren`t the chassis bracket extensions just to clear the doughnut with normal shocks?.With CV shafts you don`t need them.

Some of the custom properly fabricated rads are nearly £500. It does seem a lot but when you think of the work involved and how long they last?
My ali rad from Radtec racing was £450 and that was about 8 years ago.

I'll take a look as I also want to raise the valance by around 6mm
My ally rad is also very close to the valance so not much room for moving.

I went over the handlebars of a rented Suzuki trail bike on the Island of Crete when I was 19 coming back from a night out, no injuries but buggered the front wheel of the bike.

Mine is the same as Iains, although mine is an ally rad from Radtec racing, I think the mounts are about 2-3mm higher than they should be.
If I could I would cut them off and get them dropped, but I just left it. It also has a Spal sucker fan that is Very close to the water pump pulley so no scope for movement backwards.

I heard tales from other teams of them having a curry and a few pints the night before set off. Definitely roof down for that, whatever the weather.

When i did mine the supplied seal was just an O ring and not the shaped seal as original, I used sealer.

Yes because you have to convert to Mk2 roto setup so the shaft isn't part of the suspension, you could still snap a shaft I guess but you wouldn't lose a wheel as I did.Thats on a Mk 1 Vitesse obviously.
