I see Fuzz had another Webasto done in the new series on Monday. Can't the club ask him for details?

Our new President - Fuzz - had a Webasto sunroof restored by someone in Birmingham in one of his TV shows.

Is the slave cylinder position adjustable? Surely the hydraulics make it self adjusting. I've got a dragging clutch on the Spitfire. All new clutch, thrust bearing, bushes etc.

See my earlier post with the link from the MG club. The FBHVC document details the problems with the different types.

Try this from the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, courtesy of another car club.

Stopped for a coffee in their cafe on my way up to the midlands. Looks very impressive. The TR Register were visiting and a convoy of Smart sports cars arrived as I left.

Thanks Darren
I guess modern petrol mean the old recommendations no longer apply, so I will try a hotter plug.

My Spit Mk 3, standard engine 1293cc no mods. Has run on since its rebuild 800 miles ago. I've just changed the head gasket (to cure an oil leak) and was suprised to see how much carbon had built up in that time. Carbs set up by ColourTune and plugs a good colour. Plugs are Denso W16EPR-U, as supplied by either Canley or Rimmer (forget which), fuel - generally Sainsbury standard Unleaded
Changing plugs may help run on, but surely won't affect carbon build up.

Triumph Spitfire wire wheels are rarely on e-bay, but MG ones crop up from time to time. I believe they have a longer hub and need a special longer splined adaptor (available from an e-bay seller)
Anybody had experience of fitting them?
Are there any other problems? Is the offset OK? I'm only looking at standard width (4.1/2").

I've found another company that has some interesting products. Their 'Portable Tilting Lift' looks identical to CJ's but £75 less.

Thanks John
Sounds like a good idea - unfortunately I live in Devon

I'd been looking at CJautos website when I posted my original enquiry. They certainly do have a range of lifts - I will probably go for the extending ramps - they seem reasonably priced and give the extra height. I'd like their hydraulic lift but difficult to justify £1500 for the use it would get.

Getting older the prospect of lying on a cold garage floor gets less attractive.
Does anyone have any experience of the various lifts/ stands etc to raise a car up higher than normal ramps - there are several diffent sorts listed on the internet. I can't afford a full 4-post garage lift and don't want to dig a pit in the floor.
