  1. I assume that the water is getting past the seal between door and glass. Inside the door there should be a poly sheet hanging below the glass.  this directs the water to the bottom of the door. you can also fit a poly sheet and gaffer tape the inside of the door before attaching the cards which helps.

  2. Part of TDF s charm  is its strength and its weakness. If you go to the counter and ask for a giggling flitch pin, they will respond with " Oh you want a 2134376y. just a tick. and return in a few minutes with the right part.In stock. The warehouse is huge ! The receipt will be hand written. I love ordering on the web, but TDF is a breath of fresh air. Might go tomorrow.......

  3. I reckon it's just a club shop marketing ploy as Garth has an overstock of thousands of tax disc holders that he needs to sell!

    Seriously though, nice idea ;-)

thought the same, but love it

  4. Hello

My  spitfire mk3 wipers meet but they go off the windscreen on the drivers side! Is there a cure for this?

likely to be worn spindle gears (wiper boxes). or wrong ones fitted. My Bond had this problem . I changed the gear cog in the motor which helped and replaced the boxes for good used ones. Not now perfect, but better.

  5. doddle to remove.  My Delaney in the Herald is excellent. However the Smiths in the Bond is pretty grim.  The Motor is noisy  ( But only when in the unit...) but the main problem is that when the PO repaired the chamber , he didnt make a good job of it so  the heater   doesnt seal well against it.

  6. I have ordered a cheapo one as an experiment . TBH I will probably stick a mechanical pump on in the future , but want to try it out.  I have also bought a bulb type pump to prime the carbs ( as fitted on many modern diesels) better than a mouth full of petrol!

  7. You can get 7mm wide arms to add load to the blade but need a blade to match

other thoughts are there is aften a extruding medium left on the blade edge which can be difficult to remove from the squegee lip

also with the arm vertical check the arm is realy parallel to the glass, if its off then you get the blade judder , simple to use a small adjustable spanner to give the arm a light twist to align it.

I did get a pair of modern aero blades with the fully sprung leaf, the arm fitting was appalling sizeand needed a 10mm arm,

they may have worked but with such ashort blade was like having a hedgehog going back forth.

always make sure the arm is not in contact with the blade carrier causing a resistance to screen contour

    tell me more...

In 30 yrs of herald ownership, I have always been envious of pretty much every other cars wipers! My kids call them comedy wipers. In the 80s they were rubbish so compared to modern stuff they are laughable. Still love it though.....
