gt6j
Found a nice big split in the corrugated coolant tube off the top of the radiator on the weekend... Found it to not have any added wall strength and so replaced it with a reinforced wall type before test run around Norfolk coast today. Rain, sun, sleet, and no more leaks over the engine bay. Bring on the spring.
dougbgt6
Hi J, Don't see many black ones! Very brave to take it out in this weather, mine's not coming out till June, when it will probably be too hot. Doug
gt6j
All the better for it in the sun only Im sure! had to make the most of day off. Nice quiet lanes yesterday was great. I havent tried it in the summer heat yet but Im sure I will melt inside. Its still yellow in various spots under the bonnet too.
dougbgt6
Plenty of threads on here regarding heat prevention, You've got to seal the gearbox tunnel to the floor and bulk head to stop the engine bay heat getting in. I lined mine with SilentCoat heat/sound prevention as well. Also find and block all the holes in the bulkhead. Air conditioning was an option on USA GT6s, God knows what they did to the gallon!
