GT6 MK3 Starter Motor Pinion Teeth Count

Hi,

I've got the Lucas starter from a GT6 MK3 stripped down to replace the brushes/ bushes.

 

As it came off the car, the starter pinion fitted has 10 teeth.

 

Am I right in thinking that it should be a 9 tooth pinion on a GT6 MK3 to be correct?

 

I've got a 9 tooth pinion in my box of bits so could easily fit that instead before it goes back on the car.

from what i see pretty much all the clues are it should be 9 tooth  67H5010

across the whole range  of triumph  used  Lucas inertia starters  on  herald spit vitesse gt6
