A few years ago on the Dolomite forum I put up a post about my old 1850 Dolly, where are you now, it took a few years but I was surprised that it hadn't been scrapped, and after a more years the then current owner sold it back to me. Its now happily in my garage with my TR6 and will be kept for as long as I'm on this planet and loved and care for. Now can I make it 3 out of 3 and find out if a car that I didn't own, but was the very first classic car I drove with my dad, and nearly brought still exsist, and then second try and buy it. Well only buy it if the owner no longer wants it.

So the story is like this, I got into classic cars and wanted a Triumph Spitfire as my dad used to work for Triumph. I ideally wanted a 1500 as my daily was a Ford Escort 1.6 and going down less than a 1.5 seemed backwards for a daily. So about 15 years ago I done some research and this 1972 1300 Brown Triumph Spitfire GHU718K came up for sale for a god price. very original, but tired paint. Me and dad when out to look at it and its was good, just needed a bit of love. Dad drove it, then I drove it, and it was the first classic car I'd ever driven. However I rejected it due to it needing a respray and me not having the money for that at the time. I did regret this later. Well anyway I found another Spit UCP682T a 1500 that became my daily, and I loved that car, but over 2 and a half years of daily use and parents that wouldn't let me put new sills on it when it failed it MOT it was sadly scrapped. So now older 15 years later with my old dolly back and a TR6, and living in my own house I want to know if GHU718K is still about and maybe for sale?

Cheers

Steve
