Bordfunker Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 I’m currently rebuilding the boot corners of my Herald, including the L-shaped lower boot sides, and the floor itself in the corners where the body is bolted to the chassis. So my question, is the reinforcement section welded to the boot floor and sides? This is the second time I’ve done this repair, and I can’t remember what was there originally, though to be fair that wasn’t actually much physically left! I’m assuming that these should all be welded together, but it would be great to get a definitive answer. Thanks Karl
Colin Lindsay Posted April 6, 2021 Report Posted April 6, 2021 Yes, definitely welded. It curves away from the square profile of the outer boot corner (leaving a lovely rust trap in behind) but is welded to the floor and spotwelded to the outer sides. Best photo I could find but can get more if needed.
Bordfunker Posted April 6, 2021 Author Report Posted April 6, 2021 Colin thanks for confirming that. I figured it was, but couldn’t for the life of me remember what had been there originally. Thanks again. Karl
