  1. Hi,

Bought my 1972 TR6 in September 2019 and have loved every minute I’ve spent driving and working on it since. As the guys have said, the knowledge on this forum and in the Club is phenomenal.

    Enjoy your Six!

  2. Paul,

If the Heritage certificate indicates the car was shipped to Jersey (or if you find it was at some point) and you have registration details, the way forward then is to contact Jersey Heritage ( and NOT the Jersey Government) who for a small fee will provide you with the previous owner details they have on file.

  3. Hi,

Can someone please advise if the Bosch filter shown in the attached image can be serviced and if so give me some pointers on how to go about it/parts required etc.?

Also, the fibre covered hose in the image is from the pump to the pressure relief valve and has, what I think is, a “banjo” connector on it. It’s the only hose I’ve not replaced in my quest to eliminate the smell of fuel in the boot. If anyone can give any advice on replacing this - is it a complete part? Can I replace just the hose? Is it a simple strip down and remake? etc. - I really will be grateful.

Before some folk start shouting at me the image is one taken before I replaced hoses and fitted clips (and renewed the seam sealer, resprayed the boot interior, put grommets in etc.).The piece of carpet is to deaden the sound of the bolts holding the support brackets occasionally tapping on the side panel when the support plate vibrates.

    As ever, Thanks.

  4. Thanks one and all, it’s the internal boot area I’m tackling so not critical if it’s not a perfect match.

Any wise words about using aerosol “rattle” cans for such a job? It’s a difficult area to access with a spray gun as I’ve chose not to strip out the tank, petrol pump etc. Is it possible to get a decent finish using aerosols and, if so, any advice on successful techniques?

    Thanks.

    Hi Pete,

No, I exercised enormous restraint and educated him instead 😇.

  6. Just to round the topic off, bought four Maxxis 165/80/15 tyres. I took the wheels off the TR and took them to the fitter (just couldn’t trust them to lift it sensibly) and paid £232 fitted, balanced, disposal fee and VAT. The final job, the balancing, was done by the apprentice who, as he wheeled them out to me, said, “We don’t usually bother balancing wheels for trailers”!

  7. Thanks Colin,

I had a good look around before posting. I’ve seen mixed reviews on the other forum but always like to hear what those on the ‘best forum’ have to say before committing.

  8. Hi,

Has anyone personal experience of Maxxis tyres? I’m not wanting to to purchase premium tyres as I don’t do the mileage to justify it. However, I do want reasonable quality vs price. Comments on any personal experience will be appreciated.

    Thanks.
