The chap who established Classics on the Common decided a few years ago it had become too large and stepped down, then establishing Classics in the Walled Garden at Luton Hoo, which is a great evening. Sadly, this clashed with something else I had planned this year so I missed out, but that evening has a lovely atmosphere and no traffic issues!

He was the landlord of a lovely little pub called The Carpenters Arms i believe

If  the roof bars makes howl at speed you need to make a simple wind deflector wing mounted on the front like a  nice bit of stained ply

to match the bars   just enough to deflect the flow youre not after 'down force'

    I like me spanners

  4. Well i'm rather proud of that!

The Unistrut sorted out the little bit too wide problem and coving it in stained oak to try and match it to the old slats looks pretty good!

Much more fun than getting one that fits! Total cost about  £65.

I wonder what i would get for it now on ebay with these pictures?

I once had a house that had a greenhouse, that had a vine!    I made wine from the grapes, but being a beginner left the 'must', the grapes, in the ferment for far too long.  The rssult was more resinous than any rough Greek retsina.  So it lamnguished in the loft for a few years.

I found it again and being adventurous wonderd what it was like now.  It had matured!  And tasted like port!    Almost as alcoholic too.

Nothing wrong with home made wine!  At least to anyone who has drunk from the Ankh river!

    You're onto a winner there!
