The chap who established Classics on the Common decided a few years ago it had become too large and stepped down, then establishing Classics in the Walled Garden at Luton Hoo, which is a great evening. Sadly, this clashed with something else I had planned this year so I missed out, but that evening has a lovely atmosphere and no traffic issues!
Gully
He was the landlord of a lovely little pub called The Carpenters Arms i believe

I grew up in Harpenden, so it'll be nice to see if any of my old school mates are there

I've got a box of bits and bobs in the back, Belts, plugs, points, fuel line and some oil and water.
And some bits of string and tape!

Oh. Excellent. Good to know!

I have a 200 mile journey tomorrow from London to The Brecon Beacons. The car feels good all the levels are nice. Tyre pressure in the morning when i fill up.
What could possibly go wrong?

Very impressed with it. Nice peace of mind when I’m away that it’s not filling up with water!

I once made alcoholic ginger beer in plastic 2ltr bottles. Really nice.
I threw one into the kitchen bin that had started to look a bit odd. I went out and when i got back the lid of the bin was 10 feet away and the whole side of the plastic bin had been blown apart!
Drinking is dangerous!

Don't want to contaminate a thread from the fragrant Paula with tales of drunken revelry. Shall we start another?

If the roof bars makes howl at speed you need to make a simple wind deflector wing mounted on the front like a nice bit of stained ply
to match the bars just enough to deflect the flow youre not after 'down force'
Pete
Well i do have about 749ml of stain left!

I’m hoping mine will make it into the basement.

Well i'm rather proud of that!
The Unistrut sorted out the little bit too wide problem and coving it in stained oak to try and match it to the old slats looks pretty good!
Much more fun than getting one that fits! Total cost about £65.
I wonder what i would get for it now on ebay with these pictures?

I once had a house that had a greenhouse, that had a vine! I made wine from the grapes, but being a beginner left the 'must', the grapes, in the ferment for far too long. The rssult was more resinous than any rough Greek retsina. So it lamnguished in the loft for a few years.
I found it again and being adventurous wonderd what it was like now. It had matured! And tasted like port! Almost as alcoholic too.
Nothing wrong with home made wine! At least to anyone who has drunk from the Ankh river!
John
You're onto a winner there!

That looks deadly

That is disturbingly reminding me of Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler, purveyor of questionable foodstuffs, originator fo the rat-on-a-stick-treat, of Ankh-Morpork.

A drink from the Ankh would quite probably rob a man of his memory, or at least cause things to happen to him that he would in no account wish to recall

But i hear even with that it's tricky to get in!
