  1. Home made rotisserie for my Herald pick up rear tub.  Constructed from old garage door 3 x 3 wooden frames, salvaged on a regular basis in my work. This was one use only for spraying.

I also made a work platform to mount to the completed rolling chassis for bulkhead repairs.. Just the right height!  When that was completed, the platform was demounted on to castors and served for repairs and construction of the rear tub...

  2. I was fitting a pair of garage doors yesterday and found (couldn't really miss it...) a Dolomite engine and auto gearbox. It's the 1850 engine (I think) and the guy does not know when it was last used, or the condition. It was his mum's car and he thinks a garage did an engine change but recommended they hang on to the old one...  ???

Lots and lots of unknown answers...     Is this a scrapper, or is it of any interest to anyone?   It is complete with all ancillaries.  East Sussex.

  3. I had the same problem when I put together the rebuilt front and rear tubs.   I managed to clamp the two sections of the door flange together so that they lined up. Then found that I was able to put new bolts through the overlap into the centre outrigger, which held it all in place.   A lot easier than cutting sections out and welding.....  The photo shows the almost finished result.  The body mole clamp was used to pull the flanges into line.

the overdrive speedo drive  assy i s held in with one spigot set screw , its sealed to the case with an O ring with can need some effort to pull the drive out

getting the pinion out of the hsg. is another story ,its held in with a non removable pin

angle drives can fail especially if no spacer washer was fitted .

Some say 'don't try to dismantle the speedo pinion housing' but following a post on a 'marque who shall not be named' site, I have successfully done this.  Now a waiting new seals from Paddocks.   https://www.mgexp.com/article/mgb-dtype-overdrive-speedo-pinion.html

This will not cure a non-working speedo however...

  5. I have a pair of Stromberg 150's on an SAH inlet manifold on my 1500 Spit engine.  I'm fairly certain they have the Vitesse 1600 needles.  The engine combo is in my Herald pick-up special.

I can't give you any data, but it certainly pulls like a train with excellent acceleration.
