I have got to say, i was thinking the same about the tumble drier........ Even though our's is vented to an outside wall, you still get moisture inside and it is in the house..... Altough an unheated room.

Spot on with that Iain, better off not starting it unless it goes for a good run.

It looks as though it was just wrapped in tin foil, or maybe not as i am sure tin foil would last longer

When staying in the UK I tend to take a similar approach, but when on the continent I tend to carry things like head gaskets. I may not be able to fit them at the road side, but I might be able to persuade a local garage to fit them for me.... without having to wait for one to be sent from the UK. But that's probably just my paranoia.
What will you be taking on RBRR Sam? You should see what my mate Bruce is taking for his Stag

I was just surprised at the amount of kit in there.... Head gasket, valves, rocker gasket, carb gaskets, hoses plus loads of other bits that you could not fit at the roadside. Usually you got a few bulbs and warning triangle.

Double the uptake in 2003 there is not tome for going to work its all taken up with twiddle days and gross lethargy.
You can stay in if it rains go out when it sunny and never use decorating as means to keep busy,
You can shop when you like and dont have to manage late night supermarkets as thats all the time you get
You now have all day all week always,
The problem starts when you go out but cant remember why !!!
As a side my pld director phoned me when im duely wandering a garden centre saying warranty had run ito some problems and would I consider returning to sort it out.....what!,, I replied you dint want me when I ran it and indont need you now im out of it bye... that felt goodbye

Think BL did that with the Marina which lead to some interesting feedback, i.e. these cars are s**t.

I am starting to wonder if it could be the water droplets magnifying the sun rays that is etching the surface, which makes me think the paint is still not cured?
Help!
Mark
It is the sun's ray's Mark. Mine was ok if wet in the garage.

Hi Mark, Pete is right, you need an old style hard wax. I sent an email to mer about this problem and they were great explaining modern wax's contain a chemical called "Naptha" that reacts on certain paints. They told me to strip old the old wax's off the paint using white
spirit or similar, but to test on an small area first to make sure it does not remove the paint They then told me to buy G3 professional supergloss paste wax, which i did. It did take ages to do but the results were fantastic... And then i had no more problems It seems this "naptha" attacks paints at random as i have used mer for many years with no problem. I dont think colour matters as my car was light blue. I hope this might solve your problem. I dont think the G3 finish will solve the problem? But you could try emailing Farecla and ask if it has "naptha" in it. Keep us all posted
Tony.

Has the paint been "polished" ? If so, what type of finishing polish did you use? I had this a while ago with "celly" paint and had the same reaction.

could you possibly drill a hole in the back plate adjacent to the ratchet on the wheel cylinder and use a
screw driver to adjust the brakes.( thinking about it probably not???) Just a thought
Then put a grommet in the hole.
I have seen holes drilled in the drum a few times.... Similar to the moggy brakes.

Hi Ian, You could always buy the spares you need in advance and keep them "in stock" as they dont go off and will never loose value.
